We’ll start near the summit (2,100 feet above sea level) and loop down and up some slopes in this 1,306-acre park. Our hard work will be rewarded with spectacular views. Camelback ski area and Northampton Community College Monroe campus can be seen from here. On a clear day, you might see parts of NJ and NY. We’ll have an elevation gain of 291 feet in 2.5 miles. Our trails are the South and the Indian Trails through what’s known as “scrub-oak shrubland.” There are 8.5 miles of trails in all here to explore. Wear sturdy footwear for this adventure. Dress in layers appropriate for the weather. Bring hiking poles. Wildlands will supply poles if need be. Leashed pets are welcome. This walk is free and is part of the Get Out For Wellness series, in partnership with Lehigh Valley Health Network. Please register online.
